“A Private and Peaceful Oasis in Rome!”

lupo064 - New York City

I previously stayed at Babuino 181, and wanted to try Margutta 54 which is also part of the Rome luxury suites boutique hotel chain. I truly enjoyed this experience. The suite on the ground floor was very spacious and well designed. The bed was very comfortable and the butler and maid were very helpful. I also had a concierge available on the other end of the phone on a 24 hour basis. The courtyard - a historical hub for artists was spectacular. I felt I was…Read more

“Perfect hideaway in central Rome”

Ellomg885 - London, United Kingdom

Margutta 54 is a gem of a hotel in the heart of Rome. The location (around the corner from the Spanish Steps and all of the boutique shopping along Via Condotti) is quiet and quaint, yet in the thick of the action. It is easy to walk to the Metro, as well. The rooms are huge (even the smallest of the 4 rooms which we stayed in) and extremely well appointed. I would definitely stay here again. The staff is incredibly helpful and accommodating.

We had the superior suite on the ground floor which also opened onto the courtyard. Large comfy bed, good power shower, crisp white linen & towels. Clean room, plenty of wardrobe space, Wi-Fi. We were shown 2 of the other rooms and they were all just as amazing. We enjoyed a lovely romantic 4 night stay here, our 4th visit to Rome - previously we stayed at large 5 star hotels on the Via Veneto and much preferred Margutta 54.....we will be back!

“Great find near the Spanish Steps!”

We spent the last 3 nights and 4 days of our trip to Italy at Margutta, and are so excited to have found such a gem in one of our favorite areas of Rome. We travelled with our two small children, and had such a difficult time trying to find something spacious that wasn't outrageously expensive. After an initial inquiry, the staff at Margutta were so extremely helpful with our reservation and were wonderful at communicating with us in advance of our arrival.…Read more

The hotel is set back from a quiet, artsy street and tucked away from the "touristy" elements of Rome, yet still so convenient to everything we wanted to do on this trip: Coliseum, Pantheon, Piazza Navonna, Piazza di Spagna, shopping, etc. The suite was extremely spacious, clean, and comfortable. It was as though we had our own private residence in Rome! Would highly recommend it and would definitely reserve again......!

The room was immaculately clean with towels changed twice daily. The Nespresso machine in the room was also a nice touch.

“Perfect location”

Karina J - Melbourne, Australia

This hotel is in the perfect location, one street away from Baubino, and a short stroll to the Spanish Steps.
It is tucked away behind a locked gate, and the rooms are beautiful and well appointed. Not to mention that fact that the entire hotel smells amazing! The staff are helpful, and you feel like you have your own little Roman home for the time that you stay.

This is the perfect location from which to explore Rome. The list of places to dine (provided by the staff) is also fantastic, and worth working your way through. They can also book you car transfers should you wish - although the taxis are great and a little less expensive. Fantastic experience - we will be back.

What a treasure. Tucked away in a leafy courtyard on a quiet street of apartments, luxury fashion boutiques and art galleries, Margutta 54 is an oasis of calm. We stayed in the #3 room which was the smallest of the four apartments. Yet it had a large sitting area with sofa, coffee table and dining table, as well as writing desk. Amenities included a Nespresso coffee maker, kettle and small fridge. The bathroom with shower and deep tub was glorious. The staff,…Read more

The staff, especially the lovely Martina and Patricia were terrifically helpful. Very handy to have the sister hotel on Babuino (a short walk away) for breakfasts and concierge services after hours. After a day of sightseeing and dodging the Vespas down narrow cobblestone streets, Via Margutta 54 felt like a chic sanctuary. I'd happily live there if I could!

“Amazing sanctuary amidst hustle & bustle”

We just got back from a 4 night stay at Margutta 54 staying in their largest suite. We are a family of 4 (2 grown girls) and had the sofa bed and an extra roll-away bed for the girls. We have stayed in other European hotels before and this is by far the most impressive in terms of space, charm, comfort and did I say space again. Everything worked - the separate rain shower feels better than any spa shower. What we loved about this hotel is that it is set on…Read more

Everything worked - the separate rain shower feels better than any spa shower. What we loved about this hotel is that it is set on Via Margutta - one of the most charming streets in Rome. The walk through the courtyard with crushed stones, gives you a sense of arrival and makes you feel you are in the countryside. But the location is just incredible! You are right in the heart of a shopping wonderland plus all the historic landmarks. This hotel suite made us feel so at home - it felt more like a resort hotel right in the heart of Rome.

”I could live here”

Kyminasia - Chicago, Illinois

Not having a room available for the entire length of my stay at Babuino 181 turned out to be a blessing in disguise, because they moved me down the street to Margutta 54 - a house off a courtyard with a gate on a chic shopping street that made me feel like I had my own secret apartment in Rome. My room was enormous and was really a suite I could have stayed in indefinitely as it was so spacious and well-appointed. If you know your way around Rome and don't…Read more

If you know your way around Rome and don't need directions or advice from the front desk every five minutes, this place is for you. If you are a first time traveler and need the support of an on-site concierge, you're still covered as you just walk down the block to Babuino 181 if you need help. The only problem with a room so comfortable is that is is tempting to stay inside and enjoy it when you should be out and about exploring a great city!

This hotel is absolutely delightful, and I plan on booking here again the next time I am in Rome. First, the rooms were well appointed and very spacious. The design of the space showed off the best features of this historical building which was rich in charm. Our room had a large open plan with areas for eating, sleeping and sitting.

There was an area with a Nespresso machine and a mini bar. The closet space was more than adequate, and the bathroom was very spacious and well appointed as well. The room extended deep into the building, and only had windows on one wall, but the lighting scheme was designed well enough to keep the room from taking on a cave-like quality.

Second, the location could not be beat! It was a short walk through safe and well-lit streets to the Spanish Steps and Via Condotti in one direction, and the Piazza del Popolo in the other. Via Margutta itself is a charming and walkable street lined with shops and a few restaurants. One of Rome's many fresh water fountains is located right next to the gate of the hotel. The hotel itself is tucked away in a gated compound, affording a great deal of privacy and a nice quiet atmosphere.

I would definitely recommend this hotel if you're looking for an elegant and peaceful place to stay while in Rome.
